The four ways to buy custom keycaps
Marketplace sets (Amazon, AliExpress): $40–120 for a themed PBT set. Fast, but you choose from what exists — zero personalisation.
Group buys (Drop and similar): designer sets, often $150+, and you wait from several months to over a year while the batch is collected and produced.
Artisan makers (Etsy and independent artists): hand-cast resin caps, $30–80 for a single keycap — accent pieces, not a full board.

What to check before ordering any custom set
Layout: the set must match your keyboard's size and key arrangement — 60%, 65%, TKL or full-size.
Stems: MX-style cross stems fit Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh and compatible switches. Laptops, membrane boards and non-MX low-profile switches won't take them.
Material and print: PBT with dye-sub legends outlasts ABS with pad-printed legends by years.
